Africa and Middle East (AFI/MID)
The AFI/MID region brings together IFALPA member associations from Africa and the Middle East, representing pilots operating across a wide-ranging and evolving aviation environment. This includes major international hubs, growing regional air networks, and extensive areas of remote or sparsely serviced airspace. Operations in the region are influenced by significant geographical distances, diverse infrastructure levels, and differing regulatory and operational frameworks, requiring tailored and adaptable approaches.
Through their affiliation with IFALPA, AFI/MID member associations are integrated into a global system of representation and technical cooperation. This provides a platform for coordinated engagement on regional priorities, facilitates the exchange of operational experience relevant to local conditions, and supports a coherent approach to addressing safety, regulatory, and operational developments across both the AFI and MID regions.
