About IFALPA

Our Mission in Action

The Global Voice of Pilots

What we do

Our mission serves as the foundation for all our efforts to enhance aviation safety and support pilots worldwide. We are committed to representing pilots’ interests, fostering professional standards, and providing the necessary resources and training. By collaborating with industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies, we work to influence policies that promote safe, secure, and professional skies.

IFALPA represents pilots at ICAO and in high-level international discussions, ensuring their perspective shapes the future of aviation. We also support pilots in every country to come together, form associations, and work collectively on safety, security, and labour issues at the national level.

Who we are

A Volunteer Organization

Much of IFALPA’s work is carried out by pilots who generously volunteer their time, contributing to our mission in addition to their regular flying duties. These dedicated professionals bring their experience and expertise to committees, projects, and initiatives, helping to advance aviation safety and represent pilots worldwide.

Pilots Across Every Sector

We represent airline, helicopter, and UAS pilots flying commercial operations, including passenger and cargo services. Our membership also includes pilots operating specialized aircraft such as floatplanes, ensuring that all sectors of commercial aviation are represented.

In Every Region

Our pilots operate in every corner of the globe, flying in a wide range of environments, from busy hub airports to remote and challenging locations. This diversity of experience brings IFALPA a wealth of knowledge and strong expertise, allowing us to address the full spectrum of aviation safety and professional issues with insight and authority.

How we do it

IFALPA works through a combination of global advocacy, regional collaboration, and knowledge sharing. We engage directly with international aviation authorities, including ICAO, to ensure pilots’ voices are heard in policy decisions. At the national level, we support pilots in forming associations and working groups to address safety, security, and labour issues. Our volunteers, who are active pilots, bring real-world experience to committees, projects, and initiatives, helping us develop guidance, training, and resources that make aviation safer and more professional worldwide.

IFALPA is the global voice of pilots, representing and supporting them to uphold the highest standards of aviation safety.
