Weather Radar

According to ICAO Annex 6, paragraph 6.11, pressurized airplanes carrying passengers are required to have a functioning weather radar. IFALPA is of the view that all commercial transport aircraft, including cargo planes, should be equipped with operational weather radar capable of detecting cumulonimbus clouds and other potentially dangerous weather conditions. If a dual weather radar display is not installed, a single display should be positioned in a way that allows both pilots easy access to it from their duty stations.
