Strengthening aviation safety by funding education and professional development
InterPilot Aviation Safety Foundation
As part of IFALPA’s commitment to promoting aviation safety through education and professional development, we are pleased to share information about funding opportunities that support participation in safety-related training. Access to high-quality education is a key enabler of stronger safety outcomes, and we encourage pilots and Member Associations to take advantage of available support mechanisms that help reduce financial barriers to learning.
The InterPilot Aviation Safety Foundation (IPASF) is an independent, non-profit international organization dedicated to advancing aviation safety, security, and environmental sustainability through research, education, advocacy, and communication. Established in 2020 as a Canadian charity with initial funding from the International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations (IFALPA), IPASF aims to connect, influence, and strengthen global civil aviation safety outcomes.
In line with its purpose *“to advance education by providing publicly available scholarships, bursaries and other forms of financial assistance to individuals for aviation safety courses,”* IPASF provides annual financial assistance grants to qualified applicants. IFALPA safety-related courses are eligible under this program, provided they are delivered by recognized training organizations and meet the Foundation’s funding criteria.
Through this initiative, IPASF helps ensure that pilots and aviation professionals have greater access to essential safety training, supporting the continued development of expertise that directly contributes to safer skies worldwide.
