MONTREAL – The International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations (IFALPA) is closely monitoring the developing situation in the Middle East Region following reports of significant military activity.
While the full impact on civil aviation is not yet clear, airspace restrictions and rerouting are likely to affect global air traffic, particularly for flights transiting the region between Europe and destinations in Asia and the Pacific.
The Federation has several active Member Associations in the region and stands ready to support any MA whose pilots may be affected. We urge any Member Association requiring assistance to contact IFALPA. We will use all available resources to provide guidance and support as needed.
The Federation will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves and coordinate with relevant authorities to assess any implications for flight safety and operations.
