Dear Colleagues,
IFALPA has been informed by IALPA (Ireland) that the ASL pilots have been in protracted negotiations with ASL Airlines management for a collective agreement regarding union recognition, pilot pay and pilot working conditions. These negotiations have been ongoing for five months.
Unfortunately, we have also been informed that on 9 December 2025, ASL management cancelled a meeting with IALPA and refused to engage with IALPA directly in any further regard which would advance these talks. IALPA is extremely disappointed in the position taken by ASL management. IALPA members now feel they have been left with no choice but to strike for the fair pay and conditions they deserve.
As a result, a strike notice has been served for a 16-hour period starting at 1700 on Tuesday 16 December 2025.
On behalf of ASL pilots, IALPA requests the Mutual assistance outlined below, as per the IFALPA Industrial Manual, starting on 16 December 2025 at 0001 ET until further notice.
•Ban on Wet leasing (Para. 2.4.1)
•Freeze in Capacity (Para. 2.4.2.2)
•Assistance to Pilots Stranded Away from their Home Base (Para. 2.5.5)
•Requests for IFALPA Submissions and Representation (Para. 2.5.7)
IALPA further requests Letters of Support for the ASL pilots to be sent to Captain Joe Lynch, Chair of the IALPA ASL Committee, [email protected] and cc [email protected]
IALPA will keep IFALPA and its Member Associations informed of any further developments.
