Request for Mutual Assistance for ALPA Canada – Air Transat Pilots

December 04, 2025

Dear Colleagues,
IFALPA has been informed by ALPA Canada that the Air Transat pilots have been in collective bargaining since January 2025.

Unfortunately, the company was not adequately engaged at the bargaining table, and the Parties remain far apart on many very important sections of the collective agreement, including numerous financial and safety related items.

Lack of acceptable progress throughout the year led ALPA Canada to file a Notice of Dispute with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) on 15 September 2025.

Should the Parties remain far apart, the Air Transat pilots will be in a position to either issue a 72-hour strike notice or face a 72-hour lockout notice, on 7 December 2025.

On behalf of the Air Transat pilots, ALPA Canada requests the Mutual assistance outlined below, as per the IFALPA Industrial Manual, starting on 7 December 2025 at 0001 ET until further notice.

• Assistance to Pilots Stranded Away from their Home Base (Para. 2.5.5)
• Requests for IFALPA Submissions and Representation (Para. 2.5.7)

ALPA Canada further requests Letters of Support for the Air Transat pilots to be addressed to the attention of the ALPA Canada President, Captain Tim Perry at [email protected] and with a cc to [email protected].

ALPA Canada will keep IFALPA and its Member Associations informed of any further developments.
