Visa Information - IMPORTANT

You may need to apply for a visitor visa or permit to attend the conference. The points below will assist you in assessing whether you need to apply for a visa and if so what steps are required to make an application for a visa.

1/ If you are:

a) An Australian citizen or permanent resident or
b) Are from a visa-free country (click here to check) and intending to visit for no more than 3 months (or 6 months if you are from the United Kingdom)

Then you do not need to apply for a visa to attend the conference.

2/ If point 1/ above does not apply to you and you require a visa only for the time required to attend the conference then you need to apply for a limited purpose visa. To apply for a limited purpose visa go to step 4

3/ If point 1/ above does not apply to you and you would like to travel around New Zealand before and/or after the conference then you need to apply for a visitor visa. To apply for a visitor visa go to step 4

4/ Download the following by clicking the links below:

a) Visitor’s Visa/Permit Application Form (INZ 1017)
b) Visitor’s Visa/Permit Guide (INZ 1018)

Print out the form (a) and fill it out. When you get to section F (Visa or permit type) tick the box that applies to you. I.e. if you require a limited purpose visa then tick the limited purpose visa box or if you require a visitor visa then tick the visitor visa box.

To assist your application you should request a personalised invitation for the conference from NZALPA. To request an invitation click here Please be aware that your credentials will be checked with the IFALPA office before we send you the personalised invitation.

Once you have received your personalised invitation send it along with your visa/permit application form and the required fee to the nearest NZ immigration office click here for the fees and office finder. If you have any queries about filling out the form consult the guide.
