The expansion in use of remotely-piloted aircraft systems by military and other operators has so far been confined largely to segregated airspace away from commercial passenger and cargo carrying traffic. However increasingly there is pressure for these aircraft to share airspace used by commercial aircraft. The ADO Committee is involved with activities to ensure the safe integration of RPAS.
The ADO Committee remains focussed on ensuring that present and new technology, procedures or techniques are introduced to improve ‘green performance’ while maintaining at least an equivalent level of safety. Green performance is understood as minimizing the adverse environmental effects of civil aviation activities.
The ADO Committee is studying current features of Electronic Flight Control Systems with a view towards future system enhancements.
